I have always led a very active lifestyle and have enjoyed getting out with my husband and kids on the weekend for a bike ride through the country or for a game of tennis.  About two months ago, we were out for our Sunday bike ride and it was a beautiful summer day.  We were going down the bike path when someone came out of nowhere and I almost ran right into him.  I swerved to avoid hitting him with my bike and I ended up going right over my handlebars.  Luckily, I was wearing my helmet so I didn’t hurt my head too badly, but my back pain has gotten a lot worse since the accident, and last week I just couldn’t take the pain any more.  I decided to go to see my Doctor to get some advice on pain management options.

I have never really been one to take medication, but I figured that is probably what my Doctor was going to suggest.  You see, I have suffered from chronic pain for the past few years but have tried to stay away from taking pain relief medication on a daily basis.  Some of the pain relievers that I have tried in the past have made me feel really groggy and out of it.  Personally, I would rather live with the pain than go through life feeling the way that I felt on some of the pain relief medication that I had tried for my chronic pain.  But after my bike accident, I was at the point where I needed something to help me get through the day and to help me to sleep through the night too.  So, this time my Doctor suggested that I try Tramadol for pain relief.  He said that a lot of his patients that had issues with other pain relief medications didn’t have the same adverse side effects that they did when they took other pain relief prescription drugs.

So, I decided that I would take my Doctor’s advice and I took my prescription home to order my Tramadol Hydrochloride from the online pharmacy that I order the rest of my family’s prescription drugs through.  I also went online and read a few things that other people said about their experience taking Tramadol.  My Doctor had told me about some of the Tramadol side effects that I could expect, but I wanted to hear what other people had to say about taking Tramadol.  Two days later, my Tramadol prescription came in the mail and I started taking Tramadol for the first time.

I will admit that some of the Tramadol side effects were a bit unpleasant at first, but they were not nearly as bad as the side effects that I experienced from other pain relief medications.  For the first three or four days, I felt a little lightheaded and I didn’t have my usual appetite, but those were the worst side effects that I had.  With a few other prescription pain relievers that I had tried in the past, I felt so nauseous that I vomited, but I didn’t feel that way with Tramadol.  I could also tell that it was really working.  My back pain was much less noticeable and my chronic pain syndrome wasn’t nearly as bad either.  To be honest, I was quite pleasantly surprised that Tramadol worked so well for my chronic pain and back pain.  I was also quite pleased that I could go through my everyday routine without feeling nauseous or ill.

By the end of my first week of taking Tramadol, I almost forgot that I was actually even taking pain relief medication.  Isn’t that the way that it is supposed to be?  You shouldn’t have to go through terrible side effects just to get through your day without pain.  As I write this article, I have successfully completed my first full week on Tramadol Hydrochloride and I would have to say that this has been the easiest transition I have ever had with taking any medication.  I feel like myself again and I’m happy to say that my family is planning a long bike ride this weekend, and I am not even concerned about my pain, I am just looking forward to getting back on the bike trail and spending some quality time with my family.
